Nova with transparency - grit - 12-18-2017

How to make nova appear only with spokes and without gradient alpha? I like the gradient of nova in some cases but sometimes I would like only nova with spokes without that yellowish gradient in between spokes.

Not sure i understand what you mean with nova (supernova filter perhaps ?) and gradients, but there is a G'MIC filter called Light Rays (under Light & Shadows) that produces "spokes".

Theres also a filter called Line Nova (under Gimp - Filter - Render).
