You have color management in force

Go to Edit -> Preferences - Color Management

Set Image display mode to none

Untick Mark out of gamut colors

Hey, Rich2005

At first it didn't work in my previous reply (now edited). When I started gimp and did some work I realized the pink had vanished from the square color pool on the left however pink was still showing up in the R,G etc rectangular select trays  I don't know why but the Marked colors weren't ticked when I went to options as it seemed it corrected itself somehow. However, after messing around I had on LCh instead of HSV.

Thanks for the help!

This doesnt seem to fix the problem on my Gimp.

Why are some of these coloursliders blocky ?

You have something like this

Change LCh to HSV

The default is always start with LCh From memory  a sometime bug report, but seems no way at the moment to set HSV permanently.

As a contrast, if you do have colour management on and say soft proofing in effect, expect to see something like this.

All right, so the Preferences do fix it, but the LCh always looks like this when its out of gamut ?

Pink means out of gamut and its blocky because thats the colouraspect it can not display, is that correct ?

(I really hope the developers make LCh or HSL a preference in the future, because its very confusing.)
