Combining images

After copy layer, I could not just select Mode but I need to hold down Mode itself using one finger and select appropriate Mode....

Is it bug or I need to reinstall GIMP 2-10 or it supposed to be such not convenient way to choose mode?
thanks

Use the left mouse button to click on the arrow (see picture above), the different modes appear and click on the one you want to use

These are G'MIC filters found in the menu:

Filters - G'MIC-Qt

Edit: I selected Mighty Details but highlighted Local Normalization. But in less pronounced gray highlighting you can see the correct option.

in order to download this Software I  need to provide my credit card  and even it said that it would not be charged until upgrade, I don't want to provide it since I assume that it is not exactly free software if they asked a credit card in the first place.

Do anybody know how to download this software without providing credit information or/and how to use the option in the existing GIMP 10 to edit photos?
