Difficulty ending straight line tool
#1
Using pencil+left click drag to make straight lines. Doing a double left click to end line does not work, it remains in draw mode ?
Looking for quickest way.

Thanks

Sad

  1. move to end point
  2. depress Shift (shows the straight line) (you can still move the end point)
  3. with Shift stilll depressed, click to draw
Repeat from 2) for connected straight lines (polygon).

There is no "draw" mode, the pencil is always active until you switch to another tool.

PS: Gimp 2.10 is over 2 years old, why are you still on 2.8?

2.8 because that was the only one i found available in the automated repository a.k.a SoftwareManager on my Linux Mint OS.
New to linux, i will eventually get it directly from Gimp site.

Then you are probably using LM 19 where the default Gimp is 2.8.22

You can still upgrade to 2.10.14 using the PPA https://launchpad.net/~otto-kesselgulasc...buntu/gimp
You can install Gimp 2.10.20 flatpak
You can get a 'portable' Gimp 2.10.20 appimage from https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-appimage/releases/
