GIMP language DE??
#1
Installed GIMP 2.10 from https://www.gimp.org/downloads/index-comments.html but also from https://www.gimp24.de/gimp_download_linux.php in the hope to get the locale UI version for DE. And also using https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/GIMP/ only gives the EN version.

Maybe it's because my operating system is

Code:
System:
  Kernel: 5.4.0-54-generic x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: Xfce 4.14.2
  Distro: Linux Mint 20 Ulyana

with the language setting for EN.

However, I assume there is a method to get a GIMP DE version to work, just how ?  (Without changing the base OS EN version!).
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks
Günter

Looks like you might have a flatpak installed, nothing wrong with a flatpack.

You could try an appimage, that will run separately from your existing Gimp installation. I have a Gimp 2.10.14 (from a PPA) along side a Gimp 2.10.22 appimage.   The regular Gimp only has English available but the appimage come with languages.

Comes from https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-appimage/releases/
and the version you want is
https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-app...4.AppImage. Download, make executable, run. Worth a try.

Thanks, it did the job!
After started GIMP it comes up with EN version, but the UI can be changed for other language like this:
Edit --> Preferences --> Interface --> Language / "System Language"
Select the required language (like DE) and you need to restart GIMP to get it done finally.

Thanks for the help Wink
