How do I get GIMP to open the default canvas when I click File>new?

You know when you open Gimp and it has a default canvas? This:

How do you get it to open that default canvas when you click File>new? Because it asks me to define all these properties when I click new, like this:

But I just want that canvas that you get by default when you open the program. How do I do that? Thanks.

File > New does give the default canvas. All we have to do is click " Ok ".

What I mean is how do I get the first image to appear without closing and opening the program again. As in, I want that blank looking canvas thing in a new tab.

The short answer is , you can't
That is the default view with no images open. . Want a new tab, then you have to open an image, even if it is new blank one.

That is not an image, it is the way GImp displays the user interface. To get back to that, no need to re-start Gimp but you do need to close any / all tabs, or you can use File -> Close All
