Resynthesizer / heal-selection plugins for Windows
#1
Using Windows and having problems finding and installing up-to-date resynthesizer / heal-selection plugins?

I bundled the required files into a zip

http://www.mediafire.com/file/gwc928wmwt..._32_64.zip

There are some horrible advertisements on mediafire these days. For a 64 bit resynthesizer + the heal selection python plugin there is a download here:
https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Resynt...7#pid12687

Download, un-zip, use either the 64 or 32 bit versions of resynthesizer & resynthesizer-gui depending on your Windows installation.

Gimp 2.8
Copy the required files into C:\Users\"yourname"\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins

Gimp 2.10
Copy the required files into C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins

For Gimp 2.8 - Gimp 2.10 is similar. This video about installation in Windows 10. 3 minutes duration.

Like the previous friend who replied, many thanks for solving my problem in installing resynthesizer in GIMP 2.10.4 I have been searching high and low on how to do it. Not successful and I was about to give up till I found your thread. The video helps a lot too as I am new to plug ins and was not aware which files should be in the plugin folder. Now I got it working. Will be a lot easier if there is file which will do these files copying and putting them in the right place (like other installation program). Ha.

Many many thanks!

Thank you for the files. Can you share or suggest a link on how we could compile the plugin ourselves?

The code and some guidance for compiling is here:

Many thanks for posting this link. Should the two resynthesizer files be kept in their win64 folder or slid into the plug-ins folder on the same level as the python files? I suspect this question will also apply to other plug-ins as I find and download more.

Oops. This question is answered in the video. They all go on the top level of the plug-ins folder.

FYI...

When looking for

C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins

Note that the "AppData" and "Roaming" folders may be hidden.

For Windows users, these can be made visible.

Hi, I'm using GIMP 2.10.12 on Windows 7 x64. Even though I have executed the instructions to the letter, I can not get resynth and heal selection working. They do not appear in the filters menu. When starting up GIMP I get the following two error messages from resynthesizer.exe and resynthesizer-gui.exe

It says it can not find the accesspoint of named procedure in the DLL file.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Working here Win 10 64 bit + Gimp 2.10.12

Is your Gimp 2.10.12 a new clean installation or was a previous Gimp installed with old plugins copied over?

Check for duplicate copies of libstdc++6.dll There should be one in the Gimp \bin folder 1,723,464 B in my installation.

Check first in your Gimp profile plugins folder for another / some old copy. If nothing there make a wider search.
