Exposure is a GEGL operation so as far as I know, not scriptable.
If you can find a suitable gmic plugin filter, http://www.gmic.eu
Maybe Colors -> Zone system with just White point and Highlights zone adjusted might be similar.
The values from that can be fed into BIMP.
Hopefully someone will come up with a better suggestion.
