Thank you so much - everything working perfectly now. Looks like there were two issues. The version of Mathmap I downloaded didn't have that 32 folder and secondly, I'm guessing because I had deleted my _2.8 folder, my Gimp preferences no longer had the pointer to Mathmap.
I really appreciate your help. It's great to be able to use my two favourite Gimp plugins again
