Repeated crashes after working fine for weeks

1) over install - N/C
2) uninstall thru control panel, reboot, reinstall as administrator so all users work - N/C
3) uninstall thru control panel, no GIMP folder in program files,  if search with hidden files on find lots in C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10 - so I'm posting before I just start mass deletes - has 66 files totaling about 475K.  Haven't had to resort to this for a long time.  Dump file available.

Next - this?  Just delete every piece of GIMP I can find on the "C" drive.  Note that I keep all my files on other logical/physical drives so my "C" is only about 70GB of data.

Hello OldServerGuy,

I had 24 years in the I.T. Industry from 1995. I guess I'm still in it because I help Family and friends and some of their buddies, but I don't get paid for it.

  I run Windows 10 version 20H2 build 19042.804 64bit as well.

I was using Gimp 2.10.22 without any issues as well. Then 3 days ago I was wrapping text on a circle. I chose the text. I did a "Text Along Path"... everything is fine so far. I clicked the Paths tab. I right clicked on the text. In the menu... I chose "Path To Selection". It gave me the outline of "marching ants", but they were not marching they were frozen, and I couldn't do anything with the image from that point on. Other than  using the "undo" function to undo what I had done to that point.
I've used several Graphics Programs in my 24 years and pretty much started learning Paint Shop Pro (PSP) when it was owned by JASC and now by Corel.
So!... to tried to troubleshoot this pos graphics program. So, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Same problem! A short aside from the problem!,  I noticed that after I reinstalled Gimp 2.10.22 64bit.  When I ran it... had all the same settings I had initially changed when I first installed it and went into "Preferences" to look around and I made 2 minor changes. Default Image size and resolution, and "Ungroup" the toolbox. That was it! nothing major. So, seeing those setting from the last install was totally flabbergasted to me. That should not have happened!
I realized some files were left behind on my uninstall. I use IObit Uninstaller Pro which tracks the installation of programs which includes Registry entries as well.
Anyway, I uninstalled Gimp 2.10.22 64bit again. I then ran a "find" in the Registry for "gimp" in the quotations so the search would only hit on that word. An hour or so later...nothing. So I know IObit Uninstaller did it's job there.
I then did a search of my whole hard drive for "gimp". Nothing again! I'm a troubleshooter so I did some querying on the Web for Gimp hidden configuration files. Nothing again.
I know my OS's directory structure pretty freakin good. So I just started looking for folders that I though might look unfamiliar. I know Linux (Ubuntu) a little, and with Gimp originally developed for Linux I noticed Linux orient naming convention on a couple of folders (gegl-0.4 and gtk-2.0) After inspecting them inside. I deleted them. There location is in C:\Users\"whatever you named your account"\AppData\Local .
I rebooted my machine. I then reinstalled Gimp 2.10.22 64 bit, and low and behold. This time it didn't load with my previous Preference changes. It was back to when I originally installed it without the changes in the Preferences.
This program is no where near stable like the developers think it is, or even comes close... like Adobe Products are. The reason I even considered it was based on some Youtube Videos.
Even thought Gimp developers aren't getting paid they need to put the Folders/Directories and Files in Folders named Gimp. No matter where they are on the Drive.
I do believe I'll be sticking with PSP.
Best Regards,
