So, I just discovered one in the key-mon spirit, it's called kmcaster > https://github.com/flathub/com.whitemagi.../tag/1.1.0
I downloaded the .jar (make it executable)
Then for the shortcut in the menu and Plank, I did put a 'kmcaster-launch.sh' in my 'patrice' directory with

Code:

the mouse wheel works, does not have a right click menu, I close the app from the panel/Plank icon with a right click or Alt+F4, does not have all the whistle and bells of key-mon, but it works just well and fine and the size is adjustable from the .sh (which key-mon wasn't)

Neighbour called and asked for help, scanner on old slow win 10 machine not working.

I convinced her to let me install Gimp.

2 minutes later I was scanning on her system.

I am a Linux dude since long time.

Gimp was always the first stop solution.

Yeah, I am not showing my graphics here - this way, I am not spoiling the thank you thing.

Be assured, I am using Gimp since a very long time.

And since a very long time, it is possible to load .psd into Gimp.

I worked in the graphics "industry" back then and I had to use apple and had to use adobe producs but, when it comes to "graphics", Gimp has been the number one solution for decades.
It can do the job.
It runs on your machine.
There are even ports for android.
thanks goes to the devs and surely to the whole user community base.

Hello, how are you?

I downloaded and installed a D&B plugin in GIMP. I'm using version 3.0.6 (updated yesterday because I was on 3.0.4). The plugin is working very well and is a real help. However, I have a question: I'm facing the following situation:
1. D&B layer
2. Character layer with a transparent background
3. Solid color background layer.

It turns out that if I apply D&B to the background area, even though it's on the D&B layer, when I brush over the area, it paints over that area. Is there a way to apply the D&B layer only to the layer immediately below, that is, the character layer?

I tried locking the alpha channel on the D&B layer and the character layer, but it didn't work.

I'm very new to the forum. I used to use Photoshop, and about two months ago I decided to leave Windows and migrate to Linux, and consequently to GIMP. I use GIMP 3.0.4 and I've really enjoyed it, and I've been learning by watching several videos on YouTube. While I'm at it, I'd like to know from more experienced people if GIMP can truly replace Photoshop without any problems. That is, excluding generative AI, does GIMP have the same or most of the features as Photoshop? Is the quality of the artwork on par with Photoshop's?

Hello everyone!
What a coincidence. Today, just now, a little before 3:00 AM, I was thinking about this phenomenon: eclipses, when I suddenly decided to explore the subject further. Even after a few seconds, maybe even 1 or 2 minutes, of looking at the lunar eclipse calendar and looking at the information about the next lunar eclipse, I realized it will occur TODAY!!
These coincidences leave me incredulous.

How can I explain such a coincidence?
Have you ever experienced a similar situation?

Oh! And just to add a little more information, the next solar eclipse will be on the 21st of this month (September 21st).

The British Post Office is releasing a special series of 10 stamps honoring the British comedy collective Monty Python. Nice! Four of the stamps depict scenes from the film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," which was released exactly 50 years ago this year. The remaining six stamps feature the members of Monty Python: Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin.
When I'm walking through Bruges, Belgium, and hear a horse-drawn carriage approaching, I always think of the scene with the coconut. I'll say to my wife, coconut sound, John Cleese's coming. I've never heard a reaction from the tourists around me... Monty Python humor, a little different ?
