Menu Fonts | Low-Vision Access
Is there a high contrast (white on black) theme with enlarged Menu Text, for low vision users?
If so where can I find it?
How do I add it to my GIMP setup?
Thanks for any thoughts.
Which Operating system (OS) ? Windows / linux / MacOS ?
Which version of Gimp ? (look in the Gimp menu Help > About)
The default Gimp theme is already White text on a Dark Background. Find the themes in Edit > Preferences > Themes Example

If you look in this post
https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Layers...3#pid28203 there is information and a download for a utility plugin Change menu and icons.py
Unzip and where that goes depends on your OS. For Windows it is C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins
Increasing the font and icon size (+ a Gimp restart) will get something like this:

Then for the toolbox icons, the latest Gimp version does have a high-visibility option and a slider to increase icon size.

I will need to take this a step at s time.
OS: I use Windows 10.
2 HDMI 23 or so inch monitors. One I keep in Portrait the other in Landscape. I mostly use the Landscape for GIMP but will turn to the Portrait if the reading becomes difficult on the Landscape. Both are set for Windows 1.75 zoom.
I use the Windows High Contrast Tool
HTTP://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...a90125e696
It just dawned on me that this could be part of my problem? I cannot use the normal Windows modes because they are not compatible with my vision. Too much white and glare.
Your two screen shots above are what I see. This is very difficult and demanding reading and study for me. I have tried using the Windows Magnifier but most times the GIMP content turns even muddier.
By High Contrast I am thinking closer to these values.
#000000 Black (W3C)
#FFFFFF White (W3C)
I perceive GIMP is more in the range of
#FFFFF0 Ivory (W3C)
#726E6D Smokey Gray
My "Windows" tab stops at "Single Window Mode".
How can I get to “Change menu and letters…”?

I do not clue what to do here. I need something more basic.
Thanks for your help.
A couple of trailers.... current version GIMP 2.10.30
The colors i am seeing in your screen shots may not be the same as yours.
I have an example of what I see in a .jpeg file. How can I add it here? I take it that one provides a way to upload?
i am not making out all the Icons above. Is there listing of them in a text format?
Thanks again.

Install the plugin. This link
https://www.gimp-forum.net/attachment.php?aid=7563 downloads the zipped plugin.
- Unzip it.
- Put the file Change menu and icons.py in C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins where "yourname is your account name / the name you login with / can not think of another description.
- Re-start Gimp
- The item is bottom of the Help menu.
- Enter a larger size for font and icons (see https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Layers...3#pid28203 for an example)

It is possible to modify an theme, it does involve editing the file. maybe someone can explain the process.

Top of the Forum is "Attachments" which gives information on attaching files.
Otherwise, use a free image hosting site such as imgur.com and post the link they give you.

No.
Personally I dislike the symbolic icons and use the coloured versions. Up to you. Hover the mouse over a tool and it shows the name of the tool (+ any other tools in the tool group)

That is about as far as I can go.
Edit: This with font size increased to 14 and toolbox icons set to "Huge"
