resynthesizer.exe - System Error - charlie84 - 12-21-2021

Hi everyone, what should you do if after downloading the plug-in and placing the files in the right folder you get this error when starting Gimp?

Code:
resynthesizer.exe - System Error

Code execution cannot continue because intl.dll was not found. to fix this, try reinstalling the program.

Thanks.

Which version of Windows ? Is it a 32 bit or a 64 bit installation ?

You downloaded the resynthesizer plugin from ? ....where?
What do you consider the 'right' folder.
Which version of Gimp 2.10 and is it a regular installation from gimp.org or maybe one of the others such as Partha or samj.

Windows 10 64 bit.
Plug-in downloaded from GitHub
Gimp 2.10.28 from gimp.org
Folder: plug-ins folder of Gimp (detected in preferences).

Thanks.

In my Win 10 64 bit VM there is only one instance of intl.dll and that is in the Gimp 2.10.28 32 bit section.

Remove what you installed.
Get the resynth-partha.zip from here:
https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Resynthisizer-Heal-Selection-Runtime-Error?pid=12687#pid12687
Unzip and put the files in your user profile C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\brushes

You already know how it works from your MacOS installation. This in Windows using the associated Filters -> Enhance heal-selection.py plugin. https://i.imgur.com/hCBETbM.jpg

Thanks for the information, I passed it on to a friend who is actually the person who encountered the problem.
He made the suggested changes but did not get positive results.
I asked my friend to describe his problems with the plug-in directly.

Not looking very positive then. Look for multiple instances of intl.dll that might come from other programs and cause the conflict.

Using the files from

https://github.com/pixlsus/registry.gimp.org_static/blob/master/registry.gimp.org/files/Resynthesizer_v1.0-i686.zip

It is 32 bit, it does work but for a 64 bit Windows/Gimp 2.10 the 64 bit version is preferable. From the readme in the zip

Compiled for Gimp 32 bit version for Windows on 17 April 2011. Tested with Gimp 2.6.11 32 bits running on Windows 7
...and...
Place the following ten files in the standard place for plugins for Gimp, typically ....\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins or C:\Users\[user]\.gimp-2.6\plug-ins.

So you ignore that bit of ancient advice and for Gimp 2.10 put the files in C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins

An alternative is use a portable Gimp from samj or Partha which probably will avoid the intl.dll problem.

Thank you, my friend solved everything by updating to version 2.10.30.
