Corel PaintShop Pro 2020 Shortcuts for Gimp 2.10.20 - migf1 - 07-11-2020

A little while ago I posted Photoshop 2018 bindings for Gimp 2.10.20, and I justy had to do it for Corel Paintshop Pro too (PSP for short)...

Homepage (on DeviantArt)
Alternative (on gnome-look, for non-DA members)

PaintShop Pro rivals Photoshop since the beginning of time, but it only runs on Windows. If you've moved to Linux or macOS (or use them on the side) you are probably using Gimp as a PSP alternative. These keyboard & mouse bindings will hopefully get your life a little easier, until you fully adopt to Gimp's native way of doing things.

As far as I know and as of this writing, these are the most up to date, and frankly the only PaintShop Pro bindings for Gimp, available anywhere (there is also an on-line reference, as a Google Sheet).

Have a look at the included Readme.txt file for full details & instructions.

Hello All.

New to Gimp and thought i would give it a try. Have been using PSP for 25+ years so thought i would try this patch. So i could get a used to Gimp in a familiar way.

I installed the patch but no luck, nothing happens, tried 4 times and even with a reinstall of gimp. Anybody have in ideas or have tried this? Using Gimp 2.10.30
Would love any help

This is not a patch to make Gimp look like PSP.  All it does is re-configure a settings file to provide alternative keyboard shortcuts that might be more familiar to PSP users.

First, are the files in the correct place ? For Windows C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\

Gimp is very civilised, settings are not hidden in some obscure registry file, they are mostly text based.  This is a comparison of the default Gimp menurc / PSP modified and for an easy example, select-feather. In the Default it is not assigned (Disabled in the shortcuts editor) and in the PSP file set to <Primary>h = ctrl-h

You can easily set up a keyboard shortcut yourself see: https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/gimp-concepts-shortcuts.html  My advice is get used to Gimp defaults first and add any variation to your requirements.

Oh dear, Why do Window users do this re-install all the time. Very rarely anything is completely broken. Any problem is usually in that Gimp User Profile C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\ which remains untouched between installs.

Using PSP for 25 years, yeah, I used PSP7 round about year 2000. Don't worry you will get used to GIMP Wink
