Resize multiple PDF pages from A4 to A3.
#1
Hello,

I am French and am posting this with the help of a translator. I use GIMP 3.2 on Linux Mint.

I have a multi-page PDF in A4 landscape format, and I would like to resize all the pages to A3, also in landscape format.

Is this possible, and if so, how?

Thanks.

I hope you can understand this.

It is possible using Gimp 3.2
(1) Start with a new A3 canvas from the Templates.  If you are using Landscape set the orientation.
(2) File -> Open as Layers and load your A4 PDF into the A3 canvas.

(3) The A4 layers should already be selected.
(4) Use the Unified Transform tool to scale to the canvas size - Drag the handles to the A3 size.
(5) Export as a PDF.

What are the snags ?  It is now a very-very large file-size graphic based PDF.

A better non-gimp way is using ghostscript in a terminal.  This is a Mint 22.3 laptop and ghostcript gets pulled as a dependancy for lots of programs, it should be there.

Code:
gs -o outputA3.pdf -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sPAPERSIZE=a3 -dFIXEDMEDIA -dPDFFitPage -dCompatibilityLevel=1.4 input.pdf

Change input.pdf to your file name.
looks like this and you can check the PDF properties using the Mint file viewer.
