35mm negative scanning

To make a negative curve, just click on the circle handle at the bottom left and drag it up along the edge to the top left, then take click the circle handle at the top right and drag it down along the edge to the bottom right.

   

This is a first step, but we can do better:
  • There is no pure black in the negative (nothing<18)  so "white" is really the value at 18 in the negative
  • We can drag down the curve in the (negative) lights to darken the (positive) shadows
  • We can add a slight S to improve contrast
