Text Centre Align Issue
#1
Hello, I'm a novice user of gimp and I'm having an issue with the text tool.

When I try to use the "Centered" alignment of the text tool, it seems to be aligning waaaay to the right. Take a look at the attached screenshot for an example.

I'm assuming there's some setting I've amended by accident. Does anyone have any clues?

Thanks very much.

Could be a bug, is that a 4k display on your computer?

However a few points of 'bad practice'

You started off with text size 73 then changed the size using the on-canvas text tool. Really that is meant for editing individual characters  (or even words)  not for the whole body of the text. Use the tool options to change all the text.

Then the text box is outside the canvas. Draging the handles to move text changes the mode from dynamic to fixed. There are occasions where fixed is required, but not here. Change it back to Dynamic. To move a text layer when the text tool is active use shift-alt and click-drag, otherwise use the move tool.

Try it again with something like this:

Hello, I'll give those settings a go thanks!

It's outside the canvas because I purposefully stretched it out to show the way the alignment pulls to one side in text box, which is why it changed from Dynamix to Fixed too, I think.
