Add second language to to Text Tool
#1
1st language is English.
I would like to add a second language (French) to the Text tool,
so that Mid-sentence I can switch between the two languages.

For example to get the accent grave over the 'e', etc. etc.

Can someone please tell me how to do this?

If I am in the Text tool and change the Language on the bottom left side
to French, there is no change at all to what I type.  Sad

Not sure if I can help on this one, when I write french text I write it on LibreOffice (because with Firefox that's the only software I have a french dictionary on them and I don't have an AZERTY keyboard, thus writing in french, I do need to pass by the dico to correct accents, cedille and other characters), then I copy/paste on GIMP.

Having said that, did you try to check Use editor in the tool option when the text tool is activated? Maybe there is some french thing in there?

Or in Edit ➤ Preferences ➤ Interface and set the language to French?

I also use Gimp in English, but I have no problem using accents.

Maybe it's a matter of configuring the keyboard.

Thanks for replying Krikor.

I used Rich2005's tip above and it seems to be working fine.  Smile
