Apologies for joining two forums on gimp
#1
I am not sure what I was drinking, though I never drink alcohol. May be my system creates alcohol for feeding my brain on some occasions.

We have a very sensitive forum that says, "Your post looks too spamy for a new user, please remove off-site URLs.". So I had to alter my approach.

The g i m p c h a t d o t c o m forum I joined on 4th April 2017 and the and the g i m p - f o r u m d o t n e t forum on 8th June 2021. I still can't figure out why I joined the two forums.

One person, common to both the forums, had helped me immensely and I admire him. Thank you, rich2005! He is a member there and an administrator here.

If the either forums are cross-connected, may I please be removed from one and my posts from the either forums be merged into the other.

I will post the same thread there too.

Please also advise as to which forums should I stick to. I don't want to waste your uniquely powerful Neural Networks, a very precious resource indeed!

My apologies.

You can participate in both forums, many people here have ids on both, and even some more ids elsewhere.

Answering questions in any is fine. Asking questions in both can be a waste of your time since the people answering questions are about the same everywhere.

Yes, absolutely. But I am aware that I shall forever remain a novice in the matters of computing. So I can't ever hope to answer any poster's queries. My apologies.

I have to politely disagree. For me, asking questions in the either fora is just copy-paste. But from the collective viewpoint, it is a sheer wastage of resources. Cognitive Neural Network resources. Your resources. Time. Energy. Patience. And the rest.

I make a decision. Since, dot com is about commerce, and FSF is about sharing and upholding the Social Contract more than simply commerce, I will post in the either of the two fora but will request members to post their replies on the dot net forum.

Thank you for helping me decide.
Best wishes.

We don't waste much time with multi-posted questions, you get a "see answer on [the other place]" with possibly a link to it.

You can't definitely ask people to answer in another forum. There are also people with an ID in only one place. And this could be seen as parasitism by the forum admins. So if you ask a question somewhere, expect to get some answers there.

That is definitely out of the equation already, Sir. This part didn't even enter my mind. I am aware how precious the gifted individuals that we have here are. They are not just left strewn along the streets to be utilised with wanton disdain. Any society or system that fails to appreciate 'the gifted' perishes. Aware of this wisdom, I just can't follow the same suicidal path.

Of course, Sir, that is already a given. I have planned a workaround for duplicate postings by disclosing that I have put my question in the either of the fora. That way I could avoid repetition of efforts wasting time, energy and skill-sets of extraordinary gentlemen.

Then whenever I find a solution in any one forum in the shortest possible time, I post that solution to the other forum to avoid replication of efforts.

This way, my question can have the maximum possible attention, while avoiding any wastage of time and efforts from specialists.
