Create splash
#1
Hi, what is the best way to create a splash in GIMP ? Something like this but which we can customise. This one is an image to .gbr conversion. It would be nice to know how to adjust the core size, splash spread and sharpness etc. Thanks

  • Create a double star with ofn-path-to-shape
  • Select>From path
  • Select>Distort (keep distortion low)

somehow a hit-or-miss, since Select>Distort isn't a WYSIWYG filter.

Thanks. Just to know, is it possible to do this using the Paint Brush ?

If you want to use the paint brush, you have to find a splashes brush.

Thanks. I was thinking about creating a circle and then spreading it using a brush. Just like we do in the real life. Is it possible to do so ?

Try setting some random dynamics, time to experiment Wink

This using a made-up splater copied to clipboard mask but could be a regular grayscale gbr brush
