Black theme all turned white in gimp 20.10.24
#1
Hi everyone, newbie here (old paint shop pro user from the jasc shareware days)

I installed gimp about 4-6 weeks ago to test it again (tired it many yrs ago)
Trying to set it up a way i like the look and feel and found 4 different black themes.
Found 1 i liked thought things were looking good. Then yesterday i tried adding some gimp and psp plugins and everytime it would crash. Even deleting the plugins i could not get gimp to restart start.
So early today i downloaded and installed ver. 20.10.24. Now none of the black themes work, all 4 are all white.
Anybody have any clue???

Thanks - rider

HINT, gimp need to add a black theme

Not many of the old Gimp themes work well with Gimp 2.10 Where did you get the four black themes ?

As you found PSP plugins will not work with Gimp. Not much PSP does work Wink There are some .tube brushes converted to Gimp image hose (.gih) Patterns can be converted (at least I have some somewhere)

I would start afresh. Delete the whole gimp user profile C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP Start Gimp and it makes a new default version user profile, empty of previous settings.

New themes ? Start here: http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18492 (edit: start of thread) and tack a query on the end asking for recomendations or start a new thread there.

darkblack_theme_for_gimp_by_tarkan_t29_d78x8gb might come from here https://www.deviantart.com/tarkan-t29/ar...-438250763 But it does say that it was broken 8 years ago (and told you to put the theme in the wrong place), so I wouldn't expect it to work now.

Advaita Dark GIMP Theme seems to come from this forum! https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Dark-G...ktop-theme

Your better bet would be to take the standard GIMP Dark Theme and modify it to suit your self:
