Can't insert images

I'm trying to post a question to the scripting forum but I can't insert images I have tried  using the 'Insert an image' button with these URLs but all i get is a broken link icon.

Is this function disabled?

Not as far as I know.The URLs you post are not URLs to image, but URLs to pages that display the image. If  you want ot use images on Imgur, the URL has to be the real URL of an image (by default you get a link without extension). For instance the URL https://imgur.com/4iqrjzu doesn't work, but https://imgur.com/4iqrjzu.png does.

And if you click the 3 dots, then Get share links and then BBCode you get something that you can directly pastes in your post.

This said, you can also add images in your post as attachments (so images are hosted on this forum). This has the following benefits:
  • They will be available as long as the forum is, and not subject to changing policies on the hosting service.
  • The image in inserted in the post as a (quite large) thumbnail, so the size of the page remains reasonable for people with low bandwidth (mobile or else). The full image can be accessed with a single click.
  • The original image is not re-compressed. So when you ask for help, the image we get is the image you sent, not re-encoded as a low quality JPEG or a video, and with all its original metadata.
