Canva like Text animations
#1
Hi, is there a plugin or other option which allows us to add text animations to a GIF?

This is from Canva

If not GIMP, would be delighted to know about other options as well. Thanks.

No idea what canva is Smile Generally, using Gimp, be prepared to add the text animation to a separate background animation, using say, Ofnuts plugins.

I think you probably already have these from other topics:
Old, but I just briefly tried it, seems to work ok in Gimp 2.10 'Animation Workshop' http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8082
More recent, scrolling plugins: https://gimplearn.net/viewtopic.php?p=2079 and https://www.gimplearn.net/viewtopic.php?t=414

..but have you considered making your own bespoke effect. The Warp tool has a 'save as' animation option. example: https://i.imgur.com/kKz4TNM.mp4

@meetdilip, a free program to capture animations on a screen and save it to a gif file. One can load the gif file in gimp to pimp it up.

I can use Canva. But if there is a plugin that does the same in GIMP, it would have been great. I was hoping there is one. The wrap tool is the closest thing to it so far.

I do not know what Adobe Animate offers. I could not find any free tool that can do text animations. Maybe I didn't look properly. Canva is very comfortable in many ways, but I am too much into the GIMP and Inkscape that something like those would be really easy to handle for me.

Forgive me, compared to industry standards, such animations are very raw. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

No problem, always try to help. Sometimes the question is not clearly defined, then it's difficult to help. I think you want some presentation software. After lots of work and time you can make fantastic presentations using gimp, but this program is not specifically designed for this purpose. Otherwise, make your choice, there are plenty (including canva)
