Convert folder of images to gif in batch mode
#1
So I've been able to open all the images as layers and then export as a gif, but only in the gui. Is there a way that batch mode can do this?

I've looked into it but don't see how to add the parameters to the save file parameters that I need, like frame times. The image names are frame#".png" and don't require any additional correction or optimization, I've looked into it and the frames are just too different for optimization to help.

welcome to gimp-forum.net

There is a batch plugin for Gimp.
BIMP - https://alessandrofrancesconi.it/projects/bimp/ the installer is for Windows.

You can add individual files or folders, output to gif. A quick check and each (converted from png) gif does have its own colormap, which Gimp might wreck if opened as layers.

If you need to keep each colormap per frame then you need the command line gifsicle https://www.lcdf.org/gifsicle/ or some other application. An individual colormap per frame will result in very large animations.
