is there a way to delete brushes?

That brush is part of the original gimp installation.

You can delete brushes that you created yourself. Original gimp brushes are protected. (They can be deleted by accessing the gimp installation files, but not recommended.)

Not necessary to delete these legacy brushes. I recommend moving anything you do not want

from C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\brushes\**sub-folder**
to: C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\brushes\gimp-obsolete-files

This contains the brushes used by Gimp 2.6.x and earlier. Anything there will not show in the Gimp brushes dialogue.

If you are going to amass a large collection of brushes then you really need to look at using a resources manager to load them as and when required.
