Drawing circles with the ellips tool
#1
Try as I may, I still cannot create circles.

I start to use the tool then hold down shift, but I still see an allipse. I see the same when holding down control!

You have to

  1. Make sure that the Tool options "Fixed" sections has the selector on "Aspect ratio" and the entry field with "1:1" (these are default, AFAIK)
  2. Depress Shift after you start dragging...  (or tick the "Fixed" box beforehand)
However, if you release, and reclick to adjust, the entry field changes to "Current". So:
  • Click-Drag-Shift-Unclick-Unshift produces a circle
  • Click-Drag-Unclick-Click-Drag-ShiftUnclick-Unshift produces an ellipse (with the aspect ratio set on first unclick)

Good gracious. I will try and avoid this.

You may not want to quote everything and then reply inside the quote.
