Transparent Background GIF issue
#1
Hi all,
New to the forum and to using GIMP for gifs.

I'm trying to make a gif with a transparent background, but even when I select [replace] the frames stack when the gif is played.
I've unoptimized the gif/layers and spent over an hour looking online for a solution.

I feel like I'm missing something simple.

I attached a very simple file I've been using to try and sort the problem out.

Thanks!

I can not see anything wrong with that file. Export as an animated gif with frame disposal set to one frame per layer (replace)

The only thing I can think of is your file viewer. Some will display transparency with the checker pattern, others (typically web browsers) might show a white or a black background.

It worked when I just exported as gif! Why it didn't work if I tried playback in GIMP I don't know, but thank you!
