GIMP Eraser doesn't completely erase!

Hey everyone! I'm having a annoying issue where the eraser wont erase the whole thing. The hardness is all the way up.

On the other hand it might be a MacOS thing. There is a tweaked version out if you use big sur as

How did you create the selection? Keep in mind that the ants aren't the limit between selected and unselected pixels but between pixels with more that 50% selection and those with less.
