#1
Hi all,

Ubuntu 16.04 desktop
GIMP 2.8

It is very strange, Single-Window-Mode unable to start on this PC.
I have checked Windows-> Single-Window-Mode and quit GIMP. Restart GIMP but it can't be started.

Kindly advise. Thanks

A couple of things to try

Edit -> Preferences -> Window Management

Tick Save Window Positions on Exit if it is unticked
Click on Reset Saved Window Positions to Default Values Restart Gimp and that gets 3 window mode. Now try Windows -> Single Window Mode

or

The setting is held in the file ~/.gimp-2.8/sessionrc rename that to disable it ~/.gimp-2.8/sessionrc-bak
Start Gimp up - It will be in default 3 Window mode. Now try Windows -> Single Window Mode

Hi rich2005,

Thanks for your advice.

Tried your suggestion;
Edit -> Preferences -> Window Management
Click on Reset Saved Window Positions to Default Values

Restart Gimp and get 2 window mode (tools on left only)
Windows -> Single Window Mode

Now Single Window Mode starts.  Thanks
