Gfig star size issue
#11
Thanks everyone.

The results of what I was trying to do.
Pretty simple really.

To explain, if you are not familiar; the Alaska State flag is basically the Big Dipper and the North Star on a field of dark blue.
Big Dipper = constellation of Ursa Major (if you follow the "edge" of the Big Dipper's pan it points to the North Star)
North Star = the star Polaris

The curve or arc of the Big Dipper's panhandle directs you to the star called, Arcturus.
In astronomy-speak, "follow the arc to Arcturus".

Arcturus is in the constellation of Bootes (the herdsman).

Long story short; I wanted to replicate the Alaska state flag but include the constellation Bootes that is next to it.
The two larger represented stars being the North Star and Arcturus.

So, this is what resulted:

Truthfully, a design like that is best done as a vector image (flag.svg) Which can be scaled up or down with loss of quality. Use a program called Inkscape.

In this case I would use the star paint brush which comes with GIMP (it's called star, click on that "button" near "2. Star" in the screenshot it's a star, you might have a rounded brush),
and set the foreground color up to that specific flag's yellow
orientation "angle" ~53 to have the top branch of the star straight up, and play with the different size of the brush for the different stars of the flag Wink

Thanks, Rich and PixLab.
My next step was going to be trying inkscape.
Only used that a few times so far for laser etching.
But, that's probably for another group forum...
