Gimp 3.0.6 Appimage
#1
.....for ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04 Mint 21 / 22 and users who want to keep their Gimp 2.10

On my cloud storage, about 93 MB
https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=...dPOpd9hvz7

Comes with resynthesizer heal selection / heal transparency and gimp_gmic_qt  version 3.6.2 installed.  Remember for gmic QT5 is required.

The usual guarantee, there is none, I have tried out on the above (k)ubuntu / Mint versions and it works. Python is a bit old.  If you find it does not work, easy,  delete and use the gimp.org appimage (but no resynth / gmic for that at the moment.)

What of the future ?  I think the next release might be Gimp 3.2 and users should try a permanent installation if available from say, a PPA.  Then find a Gimp 2.10 appimage for those old but useful plugins. That is what I am planning.  Future releases of ubuntu / Mint are going to be Gimp 3 anyway.

As always, Rich, your offerings are appreciated and work flawlessly for me using Mint 22.2.

Thanks.

Many thanks. Rich.
3.0.6 seems to be a bit faster.

Somehow, when I use GMIC , Simulate Film, I encounter an error and cannot apply the effect.

*** Error in ./fx_simulate_film/*if/*substitute/path_cache/*if/*if/*if/ *** Unknown command or filename 'createdir'; did you mean 'createbi'?

Recently, I am using GMIC, apply external LUT. No sure if it is in conflict with the "Simulate film".

I do not think any confilct with apply LUT.

Just tried in kubuntu 22.04 and kubuntu 24.04 and everything works ok there.

What you could try. the plugin keeps its settings (profile) in ~/.gmic
Rename that as a backup, start gmic and let it make a new profile. Might work.

I am not familiar on this process. So, won't mess around

Try that. It still has that error.
Anyway, I can use apply external LUT. In fact, it gives me more flexibility. Many thanks for your help any way.
