Moving file tabs
#1
Hey there,

I am trying to reorganize file tabs by clicking and dragging to the position I want, but they do not move.  I've tried shift-click, ctrl-click, alt-click. win-click...nothing works.  What am I doing wrong?

Win 10 64 bit; GIMP 2.10.22

Thanks!

From reading this issue https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/663 it's a bit picky about what you have to click on to drag them.

I find you can't drag from the thumbnail, but have to click on the other parts of the tab.

I've coloured red the areas that seem to work for me.

Edit: Apologies, not reading the question which is for file tabs.

Same as Kevin, I have seen reports about difficulties. I remember one user with a 4k display who said they could not move a tab.

This video is the general method https://youtu.be/01PeLL1F8Kg

Tabs of course can be locked in position, so check that and if drag-n-drop does not work for you then use the tab menu close then open (add tab) in another dock.

Thanks for this clarification! I'm relieved to find that active parts of the interface really are getting smaller and smaller and it's not just my eyes getting older and older.

Thank you SO MUCH!  That explains everything! Been looking for that for a while!
