Gimp functions

I am looking for the following functions, are there in GIMP ?:
- Replacing a color by another
- attributing a transparence from a color or a range of colors

There are several ways of changing colours. The method used depends on the image. For a photograph use the colour curve tool.

The most direct for simple images are:
Colors -> Map -> Color Exchange
Colors -> Map -> Color Rotate
Tools -> GEGL Operation -> Color Warp

Do you want to convert a colour to transparency ? First make sure the image has an alpha channel Layer -> Transparency -> Add Alpha Channel Now you can use Colors -> Color to Alpha Experiment with the sliders.

If it is more complicated then make selections based on color(s), add a layer mask Layer -> Mask -> Add layer mask and use the selection option.
