It does not say that only, it tells you why it does not work if it won't work. More info > https://www.gimp-forum.net/misc.php?action=help&hid=11
Anyway you can put it on imgur.com or https://imgbb.com/ and give us the link Wink

You can try the "Lighting Effects" filter, after pushing the Bright/Shiny/Glossy settings.

Some ideas...
If you have G'MIC installed, the 'Textured Glass' and Drop Water (Shape - Opaque Regions on Top layer) filters could give a good result.

Another option (which can be used together with the previously mentioned filters) is to use an image of transparent glass over the artwork (adjusting the blending modes of the layers according to the best result they produce).

It is also possible to work with brushstrokes (white/black) on a new layer to produce highlights and shadows, regulating the blur applied to these brushstrokes as well as the opacity and layer mode (overlay, soft light, etc).

Perhaps there is some other plugin/script that makes this result even easier.

Edited:

I just tried...
Something like this?!

Filters > Light and shadows > Lighting effects, Material tab. With that filter, you can simulate the reflection of a light.
