I've broken my exports as JPG somehow

This is the culprit (I did try it few years ago and got errors with some software), you need to un-tick it (you did tick it because by default it is not ticked)


When you hover it in GIMP for a second or two, GIMP is telling you that older software can have trouble to open image encoded with this (no only older software IMO Wink )

Sorry, for some reason I didn't get notified of this reply. I just came back to reply to my post to say I'd found the problem. And yes, it was that! hah. I had a thoughtr that I would open up 2.99 and do an export as a JPG with the default settings, and then take a screenshot of that page. I went through all the settings, and the "use arithmetic coding" was unticked on 2.99, but ticked when I checked v2.10. Sure enough, unticking and saving that profile, and it now works fine  Cool
