How To Remove Dotted Yellow Lines on Expand Canvas?
#1
Sorry to keep coming back with my minor queries - honestly I'm making progress and soon should be able to motor along without bothering anyone...

But:  I made an image by pasting onto one image another taken from elsewhere.

The second was bigger than the first.

So I found that menu choice to expand the canvas to fit.  Exactly what I wanted.  So I did it.

And it worked lovely.  But it shows dotted yellow indicating where the previous canvas edges where.

I thought saving it might get rid of them or 'select none'  but neither did.

One simple keystroke somewhere I'm sure...  but where?

On the smaller layer:
Layer to Image size
Beware, if the layer does not have transparency (Layer/Transparency/Add Alpha channel), the space around is filled with the BG colour

You do not need to remove it, it denotes the layer boundary and only exists inside Gimp.

If you do not want to see it use untick View -> Show Layer Boundary but it is often useful to know the extents of a layer.

Thank you all for your advice. I used or at least stored in memory all of it.

And it worked great. I've got just what I want.
