How to Install Improved "Text Along Path" Script?
#1
Hello,

I wanted to install Text Along Path:
http://registry.gimp.org/node/26168

However all I see are .ZIP and .PY files and it seems that PY stands for Python?
If so, I heard such files need to be compiled and I have no idea how to.
I just want to install this script because it claims that text along path function
will work better with it.

Thanks.

you get it from ofnuts' sourceforge:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-pa...s/scripts/

it needs to be unzipped with a program like 7zip or winrar
no compiling is required, just put the .py into your user plug-in folder

on windows, thats: C:\Users\name\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins

it will appear when you rightclick on a path, under Tools

Added an "installation" section in the readme file in the Downloads pages (the contents of this file are displayed at the bottom of the list).

Have you thought about dedicating a whole sub section of the forum to your plug-ins ?

One topic for each and a sticky for the installation process ?

You provide all these marvellous tools, but at the same time every user has to collect the info all by her/himself.

The "extending the Gimp" forum has a thread for each of my scripts. Maye I should write a "tutorial" entry about script installation.
