You have pasted a 1073 x 1024 image into a 218 x 99 pix canvas. A question like this show the layers dock

Depends what you want to do.
Reduce the pasted-in-layer to fit the small canvas. Use one of the scale tools on the pasted in layer
or
Resize the canvas to fit the pasted in layer. Use Image -> Fit canvas to layers or if you want the 218 x 99 aspect ratio use 'Image -> Canvas size` and set the new size to 2255 x 1024 and resize layers to All layers

see: https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/gimp-image-resize.html

Just a question. Why 32 bit linear for a tiny image?

Everyone is a beginner sometime. Have you fixed the problem? Do you understand the cause of the small image ? Do you understand how Gimp displays the canvas and the layer sizes with those dotted lines ?
