How to change the image color from gray to another color?

Lock alpha channel, drag and drop colour of your choice.

   

That is, if your image actually has an alpha channel (transparency), because when i copy this image, the checkerboard is made of pixels.

You can also change the color of the Transparency blocks under Preferences > Display in the menu

Well actually it is visible when you export in a format that doesnt display transparency, BUT thats not how you make a background coloured.

Well actually it is visible when you export in a format that doesnt display transparency, BUT thats not how you make a background coloured.

I knew that, you got to pick a format like gif, png, or tiff for transparency.

GIF isn't quite as 'transparent" as the other two, the transparency is binary, it is more a here/not-here thing.

I don't work with GIFs much, prefer to use either jpgs, or png for the most part for my website graphics, and various fan-art I do.
