How to virtually draw on a wall?
#1
Brick
Hello there. I am a new member, and I was wondering if it was possible to make a drawing on a wall using GIMP. I searched on Google, but I haven't found any useful answers. Below there is a reference of what I want to do (But virtually, and in a wall):

PLEASE NOTE: The picture is NOT mine, I just found it in Google Images

The reason because I want to do it virtually is because I do not have the materials to draw in the wall in real life.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

1. Create a new transparent layer above the wall.
2. Draw on this new layer
3. Put this new layer into one of the layer modes. (eg Multply)
4. If necessary, adjust the opacity of the new layer.

Nothing in Gimp to directly paint with a texture effect.

You can paint on a layer over a texture, then bumpmap the layer Filters -> Map -> Bumpmap using the textured (layer) as the bumpmap. https://docs.gimp.org/en/plug-in-bump-map.html

This the Gi layer is bumpmapped and the mp layer as original.

Plenty tutorials if you search for gimp + bumpmap

The other one is a very old filter GIMPressionist https://docs.gimp.org/en/plug-in-gimpressionist.html

Same procedure, make a layer, apply the filter. Really GIMPpressionist belongs to another era where small images were the norm.
