Realistic GIMP Focus Blur Plugin - Once lost, now found!
#11
I hate this data slurping. Everywhere now it is sign in with your details or with farcepage or twittle for stuff that has/had free access

fx-foundry collection of scripts never got past Gimp 2.6 Still available, gimpfx-foundry-2.6-1.zip 250 KB see: http://gimpfx-foundry.sourceforge.net/ Most no longer work as intended.

Some adjusted to work with Gimp 2.10 here https://www.gimphelp.org/script210.html

Yess! Many thanks!
I finally got this version of it working in Gimp 2.10.24. And I don't even understand French. Smile
I have been looking for this plugin. I remember I had it and I used it back when ever it was, but I've chanced computer couple of times since then, and all kindsa stuff was lost in the process.

To me it's kinda odd that Gimp ( and pretty much every image manipulator except Photoshop ) doesn't seem to have a tool that could change the blur radius by picking values from an alpha channel, layer, or depth map. The new Focus Blur in the latest version gives some hope though...

Focus blur is very clever but there is also a GEGL lens blur that can use a depth mask.

A sculpture 'Danse Macabre' from Hans Op De Beeck is set up for triënnale Brugge 2021 and concerns a carousel with horses, carriages and persons all in grey colour. I took some pictures and used one to focus blur it.
