Keyboard shortcut for brush rotation
#1
I am sorry if this is something that I should be able to easily find on the net... but each and every tutorial / help page, gives basically the same answer... but it simply does not work.

How do I bind AND use then activate a keyboard (or mouse wheel) shortcut that allows me to rotate a custom brush so that I do not have to constantly go back and forth with a slider to make micro-adjustments?

Thank you for any assistance.

I wonder what is not working ?

Most of the keyboard is already taken up with shortcuts, but you can re-assign a pair of keys Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts  example https://www.lifewire.com/gimp-keyboard-s...or-1701723  (a good example of the rubbish dark theme)

However for the mouse scroll wheel, the procedure is the same as for brush size see: https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/gimp-using...brush.html

Looks complicated but very straight forward.

Open Edit -> Preferences -> Input Devices -> Input  Controllers
Then look for Main Mouse Wheel, click on it and you get a list of 'Events'
Choose one, say Scroll Up Click on that and you get a list of possible actions.
Go down the list to find in 'Tools' Tool's Angle: Increase by 1 ⁰
Select that and repeat for Scroll down > 'Tools' Tool's Angle: Decrease by 1 ⁰

Just over a minute, no audio https://youtu.be/8g7QSqsdn4k

Oftenbest if you use one of the modifier keys (Alt / Ctrl) + Scroll but up-to-you

Well... FINALLY, it works Smile

Every video that I had found, and every other person I had spoken to, ALL told me to use the "paint brush ICON" when setting the inputs. I had no idea, nor has anyone suggested, to use the "tool".

Thank you!!!!!!!!
