Line Drawing

I have got it to draw lines in gimp, but is it possible to move this line around.

There is no straight forward way to draw a regular line in Gimp and move it other than keeping it on its own layer and moving the layer around.

A slightly better way is make a path and stroke the path. Once stroked the line is fixed in the image but if you keep on separate layers that can be erased, then the path moved and stroked again.

What you should really be using is an application such as Inkscape where lines are vectors and can be adjusted on-the-fly for size and position. Make your graphics in Gimp then add lines and text using Inkscape.

(Before anyone jumps in with Gfig https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/plug-in-gfig.html This comes from way-back, never changed over the years and now of little use. There are better ways using the path tool.
Also in Gimp 2.10.18 the gfig brush selector is broken which makes it even less useful)
