Set Default export folder
#1
For some reason unbeknownst to man or common sense, GIMP insists on export images to the Document folder in windows instead of the Pictures folder. Is there any way to set a folder to be the DEFAULT for exporting.

When you want to export a picture (File / Export As) then you see the folders and files on your computer.
Navigate to the folder you want to choose for default. Click on the '+' on the bottom of the folder menu
You see that you folder name is now visible on the bottom of the folder menu.
So, now it is easy to choose the default folder to save your pictures.

Makes it easier to select, but doesn't make it the default...

Unfortunately Gimp uses a GUI library for this (GTK2) and is constrained by what this library allows and if it abides to the current directory when opening files, it doesn't when you save.
