No info when hoovering mouse over icon[Solved]
#1
Hello, newbee here. I have Gimp version 2.8.22 installed on my computer with PCLinuxOS
64bit KDE5 as O.S.
But when I hoover with my mouse over for instance an icon in the toolbox the pop-up square is empty.
What did I forgot to do?

welcome to gimp-forums

Are you using a dark system theme or maybe a dark Gimp theme?
The hint is probably white text on a white background rather than empty. I remember dimly that problem mentioned elsewhere. I will have to do a search but in the meantime, my PCLOS KDE5 looks like this https://i.imgur.com/0MYUfcu.jpg white-on-black

Thanks rich2005, you got me right on track! I suddenly had a remote remembrance that on the PCLinuxOS forum there was someone who had this
problem also in June 2017. So I did a search and found that particular thread (dated June 2017) and followed the solution which was presented there:
System Settings > Color, and unticked "Apply colors on non-Qt applications" at the bottom of that particular window. Indeed, as you suspected, a system theme
problem.
Problem solved. Smile
