Only core pointer - lost all else

Hi all, downloaded and being using the new Gimp version. I have to be honest, so far, I preferred the previous version.

I have now on ly got core pointer in my bottom left tool box.
Alot of tools are now missing from top left box......I have no idea how I have done this.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it just comes up exactly the same.

Could anyone help please

Re-installing rarely fixes anything. The settings are held in your Gimp profile which remains between installs

In this case it is a Gimp 2.10.18 design feature, the tools are now grouped to provide a more compact tool box.

Of course, as with lots of features it can be disabled to revert to the earlier type. In Edit -> Preferences

Thank you, I tried that but it did not work. The only way I have now sorted it was by deleting everything gimp wise on my pc and do a fresh install
