Problem with a Heal selection
#1
Hi,

Recently, I have a problem to use “Heal Selection”. Each time I press OK, these two messages, message 1 and 2, appear on my screen.

I am unsure about it because I didn’t have problem with it before.

It usually means you have the wrong active layer.

I've also seen this when there is feathering activated in the select tool.
So, maybe you could check that, too.

Hi,

rich2005:
Can you explain to me about “wrong active layer”?

Nelo:
Did you mean “feather edges”?

Yes, rimutaka that's what I mean. Make sure it's not ticked when you want to use heal selection.

Just what it says, If you are not on the layer you want to 'Heal' but on a transparent layer, you get that error.

Check your layers dock, maybe give more details of the problem. often a screenshot helps.

Hi,

nelo:
It works, thank you.

rich2005:
Thank you for the explanation.
Based on pic A, what is the difference between icons 1 and 2? Are they both layers??

1 is create a new layer and add to the image
2 is duplicate the active layer and add to the image.

If you hover the mouse pointer over these icons a descriptive tool tip should show.
