[SOLVED] How to redock an undockable dialogue?
#1
Hi,

I am using Gimp 2.8.18 on Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 64-bit Gnome 3.22.2.

My problem:

occasionally I loose the Tool Options dialogue, can retrieve it via Windows > Dockable Dialogues, but try as I might I cannot manage to redock it, see screenshot. Of course I can move it more to the left, but did not find nor could google a way to refix it, let alone that "you can drop dockable dialogue here" worked" Sad

It just refuses to be fixed like the dialogue in "Layers/Brushes" on the right.

How can I do it, please?

Thanks, gnuimpcub

P.S. My awkward workaroung so far is to close gimp, delete the ".gimp-2.8" folder and restart gimp again; and loose the previous settings Sad

Click in the tool options tab and drag into the "you can drop dockable dialogs here"

There is an option in that little left pointing arrow to lock the dock in place.

Thanks, I knew that, but if I choose "Lock Tab to Dock" nothing happens. The "tool options" floats as before!

With the option Lock Tab to Dock enabled

It is fixed under Edit -> Preferences -> Window Management

Untick Save window positions on Exit (if it is ticked)

and click on Save Window Positions Now

Restart Gimp, see if it makes a difference
