Saving modified exif GPS data
#1
Hi all,

I have tried to edit GPS locations in GIMP but it isn't working. I'm using GIMP 2.10.34 (latest available from the repositories) on Fedora 38. In my GIMP preferences under 'Image Import and Export' I have 'Export Exif metadata by default' selected.

If I edit an image without modifying any of the exif data, those data are preserved. However if I edit the exif GPS data via 'Image' > metadata' > 'edit metadata', then click the button labelled 'write metadata', and then export the image, all GPS data is lost.

Is there something I'm missing here?

As an alternative XnViewMP  also a GUI
I do not know if available for Fedora, I use kubuntu and an appimage.
Easy to edit and write to the image (jpeg) + a viewer
