Selection tools
#1
Big Grin
Hi,
Really new to everything, so please bear with me. When I use selection tools like ellipse or rectangle, the whole canvas starts sliding diagonally to the right bottom corner and lines become gradually thicker until everything kinda "melts". Started new files several times - no joy.  The attached screen shot shows rectangle selected around text after 2 seconds.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Strange. I see that you have a high definition display? Are you in View>Dot for dot mode?

Sounds like this issue: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/issues/2572

Hi,
Screen resolution is set to 3840x2160. Yes, "dot for dot" is on.

Hi,
Yes! This is exactly what I've got. The same version of GIMP and the same operation system. Downloaded from https://www.gimp.org/downloads/
In the beginning it was working fine. Thought I pressed something by mistake. Is there a fix to this? Tempted to re-install the program.

Try to unset "dot for dot".

"dot for dot" made no difference. Updated graphics driver and re-installed the program, didn't help. Changed resolution to 1920x1080 and that fixed it.
